Buy Now + Ingredients and NutritionWhen our founder, Roz Kaldor-Aroni, learned that most ice creams sold in supermarkets are the opposite of authentic, (to keep costs down and profits up) - made with excessive amounts of sugar or sweeteners to hide their minimal use of flavour, un-named colours and chemicals as well as flavours from flavour suppliers rather than from foods, she set out to change the ice cream game. Using her knowledge of food chemistry from University, artisanal gelato training in Italy and ice cream training in Canada, she learned that the best flavours and textures (and ice cream food awards) are achieved by combining minimally processed, chemical free ingredients and less sugar to allow flavour to shine through. From these beginnings a patent was registered and Elato was born.
We believe that ice cream shouldn’t just taste good, It should leave an even better aftertaste. Elato is committed to feeding those less fortunate in Australia – one tub at a time. Using our favourite treat in the world, we’re helping to reduce hunger and food waste, by supporting OzHarvest to advance this pledge. Starting with 4 cents per tub, we’ll be increasing this amount as Elato grows in both popularity and profitability, by donating half our net profits to OzHarvest.
